Even though these are microimprovements, they are what differentiates between a good speaker and a great speaker.
If you want to level up your presentation, you should:
- Improve your smile
During presentation, force yourself to smile. If you smile, you will be perceived as friendly and approachable. Also, a smile will raise the ambiance in the room; it won’t be boring if you smile and talk; it would be boring if you don’t smile.
- 2. Improve articulate
Pratice by articulating what you are seeing. Let’s say you see a cat and describe it at a slow pace. It’s color is grey; it is a Scottish fold cat; it is very fat; it is playing by itself with a box; it has a kitten liter box on the cat’s playroom; and so on. Practice is so that anyone who hears you can get a vivid image of the cat or object you are describing.
- 3. Improve pace, not too fast, not too slow
Speak at a pace that is natural and comfortable for you.
- 4. Improve your pauses
Even though you know what to say, pause for a good two seconds. What this does is show that you really think before you talk. Be comfortable with silence.
- 5. Improve your volume
Speak from diaprham, Inhale a deep breath, and release your voice with the air from your diaphragm.
- 6. Improve your enunciation
a simple practice is to put a pen between your teeth and try a tongue twister. It will be much easier to enunciate every word after you remove the pen from your mouth.
Try to practice daily for 10 minutes or so, and you will see a level up in your presentation.
